The protocol seed in one page
MCRP means Minimum Credible Reproducibility Protocol. Its starting question is: which exact combination of claim, evidence, execution and decision was reviewed? The publication/trust extension asks which present use that record supports and what work is needed when a material dependency changes.
The initial human boundary has four actions:
| Action | Small record | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Offer | One versioned claim, evidence and requested check | Declared scope can omit something important |
| Check | Performed action, result, evidence and limitations | Agreement is not independent evidence |
| Rely | Responsible decision for a bounded use and version | A role label does not create real authority |
| Amend | Material change and affected uses | A declared graph cannot discover missing dependencies |
These actions are not four exclusive stages. Checks and disagreements can proceed in parallel. A contribution can remain useful without establishing every premise for a particular use. Different institutions may reach different scoped decisions.
The simplest allocation baseline is qualified, conflict-aware selection among declared accountable groups, followed by actual shared-capacity reservation. Additional trust-routing mechanisms must justify their complexity. A declaration of common control is an input to the prototype, not a discovered fact.
Three boundaries remain essential. Provenance binds a statement to bytes and an identity under a stated policy. Check results describe particular work. Scientific or institutional dispositions require a separately accountable, authorized actor. The executable examples supply identities and roles as synthetic fixtures; they do not implement those real-world authorities.
Relationship to established work
Versioned records, provenance, research objects and data/software citation are established ideas. MCRP proposes a small lifecycle joining them to explicit reliance and correction. It does not claim to invent those ingredients or to conform to a standard merely by using similar vocabulary. The mathematical manuscript and domain chapters cite the primary sources for their specific claims.
W3C PROV supplies a provenance family; RO-Crate packages research objects with structured metadata. An adapter should preserve the distinction between describing provenance and authorizing a scientific use. No externally validated interoperability implementation is claimed in this release candidate.
Evidence lineage
This packet follows a private hardening dossier merged into its working source repository on 25 September 2026. That dossier examined economics, game theory, scientific dynamics and legal operations with specialist and adversarial agent lanes. This public export is designed to stand alone: access to private source history is not required to run the new examples.
The next test is whether people can use a smaller, more legible record to expose important limits and repair affected uses at acceptable cost. The present toy models diagnose specified mechanisms; they do not answer that human question.
