Graduations-Lange Wysocki
My first two graduate students at RIT are graduating!
Jacob Lange developed RIFT, an algorithm to perform iterative inference on marginalized likelihoods; directly compared GW observations to numerical relativity simulations and other cutting-edge models to explore waveform systematics; and did an enormous amount of work helping to produce LIGO results, for O3a particularly. Jake will be moving to ICERM and then UT Austin for postdocs.
Dan Wysocki developed PopModels, a general framework for bayesian hierarchial inference for GW source populations. He’s most well known for his work on the LIGO O2 populations paper. He’ll be starting a postdoc at UW-Milwaukee.
